Roar Advanced Finishing
Roar Advanced Finishing Ltd is a Derbyshire company with over 30 years’ experience in the car refinish, automotive and composite finishing industries. Having invested heavily into research and development, fully automated computer controlled manufacturing and an offsite technical training centre; their objective is to produce solutions of the highest quality at a realistic cost to the end user.
The customer needed help to identify fire risks and install a full fire safety system, including fire extinguishers, in order to comply with current fire and safety legislation. With a small staff of 10 they were unable to commit sufficient time and resource internally to fire safety and needed to engage an expert Fire Engineer to offer advice and help them meet their legal requirements.
Our immediate task was to carry out a fire risk assessment to help identify on site in order to ensure the customer’s premises were fully compliant. We drafted detailed specification and tender documents, and, having collected quote for installation from a number of contractors, we successfully managed the installation of the full life safety system to the complete satisfaction of the customer.
The customer’s factory premises are now completely compliant with all fire regulations with a system of updates and annual checks in place and an up to date fire safety manual.
Being a chemical based operation, the work done by Synergy Fire Engineering has provided the customer with complete peace of mind that they are operating safely in order to protect their staff and assets.
“Synergy Fire Engineering were recommended to us by a contact of our Financial Director when we needed to have a full fire safety system, including extinguishers installed.
We had received differing advice from various fire and security companies and sought some expert advice on exactly what we needed to comply with the law. Synergy designed our life safety systems around the fire risk assessment they carried out, ensuring we got exactly what we needed.
With only a small staff, saving time was most important to us and we were delighted with the fantastic service and complete peace of mind that Synergy gave us. Highly recommended.”

Audley Court
Audley Court Ltd has been managing retirement villages for more than 10 years, but their experience of providing high-quality retirement properties and care for older people goes back much further. In 1983, the company’s current Chief Executive, Nick Sanderson, developed the conventional care home concept into something completely different; the UK’s first luxury retirement villages.
Their mission is to be the most trusted provider of luxury retirement in the UK. They also provide care for older people in their own homes, promoting independence in later life.
The challenge for Synergy was to provide fire training for the company’s staff, in order to comply with current fire and safety regulations. The company also wanted to train individuals looking to enhance their skills and become fire wardens.
Synergy had previously delivered fire training to staff at Audley Court Ltd. We carried out this training again with a new team of delegates. The training included showing how fires are often caused and how they spread; fire prevention skills; how to respond to a fire calmly and safely, how to operate a fire extinguisher and carry out an evacuation.
In total 96 members of staff attended courses held in Derbyshire, Berkshire, Yorkshire and Buckinghamshire with the company wanting them to have a better appreciation of how fires can be caused and how to deal with them effectively. They also wanted them to feel confident handling fire extinguishers.
At the end of the course, delegates said they now feel they have a better appreciation of the dangers of fire. They also said they are well equipped with the skills to deal with a fire-related emergency at the retirement homes they work at.
“I would definitely recommend Synergy Fire Engineering to others. Matt is very knowledgeable about his subject. He is well prepared and efficient in his manner. They travelled a long way to carry out our training and was flexible in his approach.”
