Learn a Life Saving Skill this Term

As students from schools, colleagues and universities across the country have packed their pencil cases, PE kits and text books ready for the new term to begin after the sun-blessed summer, it’s a great opportunity to think about what new skills you can learn at work too.

Now is the perfect time to evaluate your employees’ existing skills and how you can nurture them to continue to improve. At Synergy Fire Engineering, we passionately believe that one of the most valuable skills you can provide your colleagues is the ability to save lives if a fire should occur.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 says as a business owner you MUST provide fire safety training for your employees.

But the good news is that at Synergy, we are BAFE SP205 Accredited Fire Risk Assessors – which means we provide courses that provide you everything you need to keep you, your team and your business safe and compliant.

So while students begin studying for their GCSEs, A Levels or honours degrees, here’s what your employees could also be learning:

How to prevent a fire

Our training will showcase the benefit of fire doors and other safety prevention measures. Prevention is always better than a costly clean-up operation. Or more devastatingly, the loss of a life. We will show you how to spot fire hazards and how to rectify them to help keep your employees and premises safe. Fire prevention will become something all your employees feel invested in.

What different kinds of fire there are

Our fire training explains what different kinds of fires there are and what combustible materials contribute to a blaze. We look at how faulty electrical appliances, misuse of equipment such as plug adaptors or fans, office clutter and arson can all contribute to a fire.

What to do if they discover a fire

Our awareness training starts with a hard-hitting introduction which explains just how fast moving and devastating a fire can be. We look at how many fire wardens you will need and what their role should be. We also review what valuable information firefighters need when they arrive to help them tackle a fire effectively and to save lives.

How to use a fire extinguisher

Our fire safety training will showcase how different fires are classified and how to choose the right fire extinguisher for the job. We understand the importance of physical practice, so during each course we give every candidate the opportunity to fight a real fire using our fire training rig.

Our tried and tested way of delivering fire safety training means you and your colleagues will leave feeling informed about the dangers of fire, respectful of what could cause a fire and confident to tackle any issues.
